  • Health Level Seven Brings Cohesion, Responsiveness to Clinical Documentation Standards Development
    Health Level Seven (HL7), a preeminent developer of global healthcare standards, today announced breakthrough progress with its Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), including four new implementation guides. The guides address basic documentation requirements for diagnostic imaging, consultations, quality reporting and home health monitoring. These four implementation guides have been developed in response to industry demand as is clear from the wide range of supporting and collaborating institutions and providers.

    Health Level Seven® (HL7®), a preeminent healthcare IT standards development organization with broad international representation, today announced election results for its Board of Directors. The 2008 recipients of the W. Edward Hammond, PhD, Volunteer of the Year Awards were also recognized at the event.

    The Health Level Seven (HL7) Board of Directors has named seven new members to serve on its Advisory Council: Michael Fitzmaurice, PhD, senior science advisor for information technology, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Harry L. Reynolds, vice president of the HIPAA & Information Compliance Office at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina; Helga Rippen, MD; Nina M. Schwenk, MD, vice president of the Mayo Clinic, chair of the Information Technology Committee and consultant with General Internal Medicine; Jeremy Thorp, director of business requirements for NHS Connecting for Health; John Tooker, MD, MBA, FACP, executive vice president and chief executive officer for the American College of Physicians; and Charlene S. Underwood, director of Government and Industry Affairs at Siemens Medical Solutions.

    Health Level Seven® (HL7®), a preeminent developer of global healthcare standards, today announced the release of Version 3 Normative Editaaion 2008, a globally-defined suite of specifications based on HL7's Reference Information Model (RIM). This suite provides a single source that allows implementers of V3 specifications to work with the set of messages, data types, and terminologies needed to build an implementation.

  • Health Level Seven Announces Newest Affiliate-HL7 Singapore
    Health Level Seven (HL7), a preeminent developer of global healthcare standards, today announced the addition of HL7 Singapore to its growing number of affiliates. HL7 Singapore was officially launched at a half-day networking and information exchange event. Presentations were given by Fong Choon Khin, chair of HL7 Signapore; Sarah Christine Muttitt, MD, CIO of MOH Holdings Singapore; and Charles Jaffe, MD, PhD, CEO of HL7, Inc.
